St Bartholomew's graveyard index

In 2004, Steve Hobson and Judi Thorpe finished the complete index of the memorial inscriptions in the graveyard of the Marsden parish church of St Bartholomew.

The index includes all decipherable names, dates, relationships and other information. The complete index is available at the local history section of Huddersfield Library, Marsden Library in Peel Street, and the Kirklees Information Point on Peel Street, Marsden.

Pat Burgess of St. Bartholomew's Church, Marsden, is willing to help those wishing to locate their ancestors' graves in the churchyard; she has information, from other sources, on some burials which are no longer visible on the gravestones and so do not appear in the list of names supplied here. 

She can be contacted by emailing her, with as much information as possible on the deceased person or grave, on pat@patburgess.co.uk
